After a decision at a Community Safety Committee meeting at Beeston Town Hall, the Council will start a consultation on whether to introduce an order which will give the authority the power to target persistent street drinkers in Stapleford. If implemented the order will come in for three years starting on May 1st. The action is being taken because of the number of alcohol related anti social behaviour incidents in the town. Anyone breaching the order would be committing a criminal offence and be subject to a £75 fixed penalty notice or prosecution.
